Marine Systems has developed a centrifuge trailer for Rijkswaterstaat. In 2021, Marine Systems has built two centrifuge containers. The centrifuge trailers are used as mobile research rooms and are used to carry out water quality studies. The surface water is sucked in through a pump and then transported to the centrifuges via the pipework. There, the sediment will be removed from the surface water by centrifugation. This sediment is used for various water quality studies. The system is controlled and managed using a SCADA system.

The trailers (4350 x 2350 x 2800 mm) are equipped with an electrically operated levelling system on the outside and a generously sized laboratory work table to carry out the research on the inside.

After the assignment, both the project managers and the end-users are closely involved in the development process.

The assignment consisted of:

  • Engineering centrifuge trailer (electrical, mechanical and automation);
  • Building trailer;
  • Installing interior;
  • Installing electrical facilities;
  • Centrifuge maintenance;
  • Installing centrifuge;
  • Installing laboratory equipment;
  • Programming and tuning;
  • FAT and SAT test;
  • Transport to location.

Marine Systems is also responsible for the maintenance of both centrifuge trailers for a period of 15 years.
