Marine Systems has developed a centrifuge container for Rijkswaterstaat. In 2020, Marine Systems has built three centrifuge containers which are used on ships that conduct water surveys. The water is sucked in through a pump and then transported to the centrifuges via the pipework. There, the solids are filtered by centrifugation. Subsequently, various studies are conducted on the collected solids. The relevant system is controlled and managed using a SCADA system. The 10ft containers are provided with a generously-sized laboratory work surface to be able to carry out the studies.

After the assignment, both the project managers and the end-users are closely involved in the development process.

The assignment consisted of:

  • Engineering centrifuge container (sketch, preliminary and final design);
  • Building container;
  • Installing interior;
  • Installing electrical facilities;
  • Overhauling centrifuges;
  • Installing centrifuges;
  • Installing laboratory equipment;
  • FAT and SAT test;
  • Delivery of reports;
  • Transport to location.

Marine Systems will build and deliver several more centrifuge containers in the period 2021 – 2025 at the behest of Rijkswaterstaat and is also responsible for the maintenance of all centrifuge containers.
