At the behest of Rijkswaterstaat, Marine Systems has completely renovated a Box corer. The Box corer is used to investigate sand and seabed material in the sea.
The Box corer is brought to the seabed using a cable. When the Box corer has reached the bottom, a part of the sediment is absorbed, closed off and then collected.
The device is very easy to use and results in a minimal disturbance of sediments.
The assignment consisted of:
- Renovation Box corer based on established objectives and wish list;
- Test Box corer (in workshop and practice).
