For Rijkswaterstaat’s Mobiel Meten division, we designed and built a compact fully equipped 10ft laboratory container. The laboratory container is used for water quality measurements on Dutch waterways.
Marine Systems had previously delivered six 20ft laboratory containers to Rijkswaterstaat. However, one of their vessels did not have sufficient available space to accommodate a 20ft laboratory container. This led Rijkswaterstaat to decide to have a compact 10ft laboratory container built.
Because the available space was more limited than in the previously delivered 20ft containers, this project required smart solutions and a creative design. Marine Systems succeeded in preserving the container’s full functionality while maintaining user-friendliness in relation to the available workspace.
After completion, both a FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) and SAT (Site Acceptance Test) were carried out in close cooperation with the client. Both tests were successfully completed, and the container was put into operation immediately. In addition to designing, building, and delivering the laboratory container, Marine Systems will also perform preventive and corrective maintenance on this container in the coming years.
Rijkswaterstaat Mobiel Meten conducts water quality measurements throughout the Netherlands. The collected data is used to monitor water quality and take action when necessary.
